The design is a plan, not a promise: the outcome also depends on how your gums respond, on your bite and on the laboratory, and small differences from the mock-up are normal. The larger risk sits further down the line, because a design that specifies more veneers or crowns than the case needs leads to irreversible tooth reduction. The mock-up is tried in your mouth before any preparation, the most conservative option is proposed for each tooth, and you can change or decline the plan at that point with nothing yet cut.
