The hairline is planned around your age, forehead shape and the likely progression of hair loss. You check it together in the mirror on the morning of surgery, and nothing begins until you approve it.
Sapphire blades and the DHI pen
Sapphire blades are used to open the channels, and a Choi implanter pen is used for placement. That means smaller channels, less crusting, and the ability to place grafts more densely.
Followed up for a full year
Checks are carried out by photograph at 3, 6 and 12 months. This follow-up is the only reliable way to see whether growth is progressing as expected.

Three days in Istanbul, day by day
The process is almost the same for nearly every hair transplant patient: one day of preparation, one day of surgery, one day for the first wash.
- Day 1
Arrival, blood tests and planning
You're welcomed and settled into your hotel, followed by blood tests, an assessment of your donor area, and the drawing of your hairline. Your graft count is finalised at this consultation.
- Day 2
Operation day
A procedure lasting 6–8 hours under local anaesthetic, with breaks and lunch provided along the way. You're awake throughout, and can listen to music or watch a film.
- Day 3
First wash and departure
The first wash is carried out at the clinic, and you're shown how to do it at home. The bandage is removed, and you're given your medication and aftercare instructions; there's nothing to stop you flying.

Growth and follow-up
The first three months are a resting phase. New hair appears from the third month, noticeable density follows by the sixth month, and the final result is visible at twelve months.

With widespread, fast-progressing hair loss, active scalp disease, or uncontrolled chronic conditions, a transplant may be postponed or not recommended at all.
