Overview
Sapphire FUE is standard FUE with one change: the recipient channels are opened with sapphire crystal tips rather than steel blades. The sapphire tip is V-shaped and leaves a narrower, smoother-walled channel, which means less tissue trauma, crusting that clears sooner, and channels that can be placed closer together. Channels are opened first and the grafts are then placed with forceps; a 6–8 hour session usually moves 4,000–5,000 grafts.

Blood tests and hairline drawing
On arrival day we run your bloods, measure donor density and draw your new hairline in front of a mirror. Nothing starts until you approve it.

Extraction and sapphire channels
The donor area is numbed and grafts are removed one by one with a micromotor punch. Channels are then opened with sapphire tips and each graft is placed at the planned angle and direction.

First wash and flight home
The next day the first wash is done at the clinic and you are shown how to repeat it at home. You are clear to fly on day three.
Aftercare & long-term tips
For the first ten days after you fly home, keep washing exactly as you were shown at the clinic and never pick the crusts. Avoid sport, saunas, swimming pools and direct sun for two weeks; smoking and alcohol slow healing. We review your photos remotely at months three, six and twelve.

Stick to soft, lukewarm foods and drinks; avoid very hot or hard items while any numbness or sensitivity settles.
First few days
Ease back into normal eating as sensitivity fades — usually within a few days.

Risks and an honest expectation
As with any surgery there are risks: temporary swelling and numbness in the donor and recipient areas, folliculitis, infection in rare cases, and a proportion of grafts failing to take. We run pre-operative bloods, work in sterile conditions and prescribe antibiotics and painkillers. Results vary from person to person, and no graft count guarantees a particular density.
