Eye assessment and measurement
Lid height, skin excess and brow position are measured, and we always ask about dry eye, thyroid disease and any previous laser vision surgery.

The procedure: 1–2 hours under sedation
The upper lid incision is placed inside the natural crease and the lower lid is usually approached from inside. You return to your hotel the same day.

Suture removal and final check
Sutures are removed on day 5–7, by which point bruising can generally be covered with make-up. Your surgeon gives flight clearance after the final examination.
Aftercare & long-term tips
Once home, continue cold compresses and the prescribed drops for the first week, and leave contact lenses out for two weeks. Reduce screen time, wear sunglasses outdoors and do not rub your eyes. Swelling takes around three months to resolve completely, and follow-up continues by photograph during that time.

Risks and an honest expectation
Dry, gritty eyes are common after blepharoplasty and usually temporary; incomplete lid closure, asymmetry between the two lids, small white cysts along the incision and downward pull of the lower lid needing correction can also occur. Bleeding behind the eye that threatens vision is very rare but genuine. For that reason surgery is performed with blood pressure controlled, blood thinners are reviewed and adjusted beforehand, and you are re-examined within the first 24 hours.
