Rhinoplasty reshapes the bone and cartilage framework of the nose, and in most cases addresses the airway at the same time. Examination, tests and honest goal-setting
In Istanbul the surgeon examines the inside and outside of the nose, and blood tests plus an anaesthetic review are completed. You are told plainly how much of your goal is achievable.

Surgery and one night in hospital
The operation takes 2–3 hours under general anaesthetic, after which you spend one night under observation in hospital.

Splint removal and flight clearance
At around day seven the splint and sutures come out and you have a final check. Once your surgeon approves, you fly home on day 7–8.
Aftercare & long-term tips
Once home, avoid blowing your nose, wearing glasses, strenuous exercise and hot showers for three weeks, and sleep on your back with your head raised. Saline rinses reduce crusting and make breathing more comfortable. Remote follow-up continues by photograph, and your surgeon sets the review points across the first year.

Stick to soft, lukewarm foods and drinks; avoid very hot or hard items while any numbness or sensitivity settles.
First few days

Risks and an honest expectation
Risks specific to rhinoplasty include lasting nasal obstruction or internal adhesions, collapse or irregularity where too much bone or cartilage has been removed, an under-corrected or asymmetric tip, altered skin sensation and, rarely, post-operative bleeding; general anaesthetic carries its own risks.
