Overview
Facial mesotherapy delivers a mixture of hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids into the upper layer of the skin through micro-injections. The aim is better hydration, texture and brightness, not added volume or a lifting effect. It is given as a course of 3–4 sessions spaced 2–3 weeks apart, and the result settles at about three months.

Skin assessment
Your doctor checks hydration, skin texture and any active acne or irritation, and selects the ingredients of the mixture against your allergy history.

The session
The skin is cleansed and the mixture is delivered into the upper skin layer with a very fine needle in micro-injections. The session takes about 30 minutes.

Completing the course
Sessions are repeated 2–3 weeks apart. After a total of 3–4 sessions the result settles at around the third month.
Aftercare & long-term tips
Do not wear make-up or rub the skin on the day of treatment, and avoid exercise, saunas and hot showers for 24 hours. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily. Keep to your session calendar at 2–3 week intervals, and once the course is finished we assess the result together at the third month.

Stick to soft, lukewarm foods and drinks; avoid very hot or hard items while any numbness or sensitivity settles.

Ease back into normal eating as sensitivity fades — usually within a few days.

The expected side effects are temporary redness, small raised bumps lasting a few hours, and bruising.
